Exploring Other Dimensions with Louisa Firethorne

A woman-unicorn awakes in a desert scene of neon colors and bright design
Desert Visions

Louisa Firethorne’s visionary artwork immediately captured our imaginations and has yet to release us from its transcendental grasp. Each piece invites us into another dimension where magic, art, and science collide in a brilliant display of possibility. Themes of ascension and the divine feminine meld with wonder and curiosity, begging the question: is Louisa from Earth, or is she a messenger from some wondrous alternate reality? Either way, we are proud to share a glimpse into her universe through Stargazer, Dividing Worlds, and Desert Visions. We're excited to share a little more about her and her work below!

What inspires you to create?

I will never fully understand the specific inspirations, but mainly, I love to create and see beauty forged by my own hands. There is a special kind of euphoria that emerges from watching a concept be born out of imagination into reality. A child-like excitement takes over my senses any time I make something new.

What other creative endeavors do you pursue?

I have many creative endeavors including digital/vector based artwork, sewing, electrical engineering, industrial design, installation artwork, unique lamp making, resin/silicone art, and textile artworks of all kinds.

We’ve heard you’re an inventor; tell us about your weirdest invention.

I am the inventor of The Sonosphere, a large installation that combines art, science, and music into a most incredible sensory experience. The Sonosphere uses vibroacoustic therapy combined with a next-level sound bath. This device is designed to induce deep relaxation, subtle euphoria, and the release of tension while simultaneously providing both therapeutic and entertainment benefits. The Sonosphere combines tactile haptics with a 12.1 3D surround sound system to create a unique sensory experience. How does interdimensional travel factor into your creative process?

I believe that we as humans exist on every dimensional plane simultaneously. These layers of reality combine, one on top of the other, to create our universe. Our present focusing or tuning is in the third dimension, with time as an observable factor. I believe that interdimensional travel is simply a tuning of our consciousness to other levels of reality. I feel I’ve been able to reach these other levels at times in my life and what I learn there is funneled into my art and creative ideas. There may be interdimensional beings involved.

What place does weirdness have in your life?

I have always been very different from anyone following the status quo. I’ve always held comparatively radical thoughts, ways of dressing, ways of spending my money/time, and have been outspoken since I learned to speak. I’ve always resisted anything “popular” and have tried to always be coming from a place of sincere originality and have pioneered lots of different aesthetic trends.

Where do you go or what do you do to recharge your creative battery?

The beach is my happy place. Alone time is essential as the mom of two little kids.

Have you ever found story inspiration from a dream?

The concept for the Sonosphere started out as an assignment for my senior project at college but the actual design came to me in a very strange dream. It was literally given to me in my mind’s eye while I was dreaming, and I remembered it when I awoke, which was also surprising as I don’t usually remember my dreams.

What will your biography be titled?

American Inventor Louisa Firethorne: The Genius of a Lunatic.

What’s your favorite cryptid?

Definitely Fairies and Aliens.

There’s “good weird" and there’s "not-so-good weird." What’s “good weird" to you?

"Good weird" to me, is doing the opposite of what society says we should be doing. Like how they think working for some company is the pinnacle achievement of life itself, when really it should be the experience of Love in all its forms. Anytime we put the soul first, it’s weird in a good way.
